Milan SS26 showcased a reinvention of newness, marked by creative director debuts redefining identities. Almost like the blossoming of Spring, so too, did established houses.

A blend of heritage and experimentation met with softness this year, shifting to slow designs. Houses opted for saturated colour pallets and earthy hues. The whisper of fringe and feathers mixed with wrinkled fabrics made recurring appearances. Stiff tailoring gave way to relaxed silhouettes with raw hems, reflecting a preference for tactility, lived in elegance, and maximalism this Spring.

We’ve selected 3 collections that defined the week for us, and the elements commanding our attention.

DOLCE & GABBANA

Pyjama’s, elevated. D&G leaned into comfort elegance, merging loungewear and formalwear into a dance of glamour and solace. Touches of sparkle, crystal and floral embroidery embraced evening wear, while pyjama tops tucked into leather shorts blurred casual from formal. The collection gave a sense of intimacy and realness, where formality was questioned and comfort remains a luxury.

TOD’S

Featuring linen, linen-silk blends, crepe and satin fabrications in addition to the houses artisanal traditions (leather), Tod’s SS26 collection leaned into legacy. Relaxed elegance and effortless luxury defined the collection, with garments designed to drape and move with ease in natural tones with hints of burnt shades and saffron yellow accents – playing on the fleeting, golden hues of late summer.

SPORTMAX

Dreamy and vibrant, Sportmax SS26 honoured heritage, reimagined. Contrasting floaty fabrics with structured wool and leather added dimension to the collection. The use of transparency and layered complexity expanded Malagoli’s usual comfort in minimalism. The collection embraced fresh perspectives within house motifs, aligning with the season’s move toward hybrid aesthetics.

Milan Fashion Week redefined heritage for the future. Cultivating new concepts and embracing fresh perspectives evoked excitement for what’s to come. Now, all eyes turn to Paris.
