There’s something electric about Australian Fashion Week nights. Set on the grounds of Carriageworks, the space was filled with anticipation, the flash of cameras, and that first glimpse of a collection in motion.
On the evening of Thursday the 15th, we found ourselves immersed in Mariam Seddiq’s Resort 26 showcase. Titled The Decade, the collection marked a ten-year milestone of avant-garde designs, blending sculptural silhouettes with fluid elegance. Gracing the runway were bold hues of maroon, the standout colour of the moment, contrasted by soft pastel blues and Seddiq’s signature white, reflecting her classic bridal influence.
As the stunning collection came to a close, the stage was ignited with Laura Branigan’s Self Control as the models embarked on their finale walk. The room was engulfed with energy, flashing lights, standing ovation’s and a sense that the night was only just beginning.
This momentum carried straight into the afterparty, where champagne flowed, the room filled with the hum of late 80s to early 90s pop, and the conversations followed with just as much energy. With our party heels on and favourite bags in tow, we soaked in the night that only Fashion week can deliver.
